AI's Upsides and Downsides in the Workplace

A major workplace reshuffle to transfer repetitive and preliminary tasks from humans to AI is looming large. Nowadays, more AIs are used to write project plans, edit photographs or visualize texts. Those who refuse to leverage this technology will be considered unqualified and unable to progress. Other than the technological sector, industries with high AI applicability also include finance, consultancy and legal firms. According to accountants PwC, in 2025, the productivity growth of industries most suited to AI has almost quadrupled. However, concerns are growing over AI's increasingly dominant role in preliminary work. Although the work is basic and simple, it is an indispensable learning process for entry-level employees to accumulate knowledge and build expertise. Experts insist AI can never replace humans to work with emotional resonance, sophisticated analyses and imagination. Meanwhile, the loss of human thoughts and aesthetics can also deter AI development.
