New Yorkers Try Mooncakes for the First Time

The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节) is right around the corner (September 13th)!

In China, the festival is an important time for family reunions. People traditionally celebrate it by setting out red lanterns and eating mooncakes, a rich pastry typically filled with sweet-bean or lotus-seed paste.

This year, we bought some mooncakes from Costco and invited New Yorkers to taste them for the first time. Let's see what New York City thinks of mooncakes.
