New Noir: The Chinese Crime Films program, as part of Creative China Festival, is touring the US and introducing five Chinese films, little seen outside of the festival circuit either at home or abroad, to American audiences.
Beijing-based film curator Xie Meng talks about these hard-hitting fugitive films, the state of the school of noir in the Chinese mainland as well as how films can be a bridge to connect people of different culture and backgrounds.
