“Three forces (land, sea and air) are gathering here at Zhurihe. Let’s see them ‘bear their swords.’”
On July 30, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a military parade at Zhurihe, the army’s most advanced military training base, located in Inner Mongolia, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the PLA’s founding. China’s President Xi Jinping, who also serves as the chairman of China’s Military Commission, reviewed the troops’ 12,000 soldiers and officers and around 600 pieces of military hardware. State television CCTV carried live coverage of the parade which attracted an audience of millions.
