Benjamin Genocchio stepped up in 2015 as director of the Armory Show, a New York-based international art fair inspired by the idea of presenting new art from around the world together under one roof in New York City. After 23 years, the Armory Show has been growing into a major event on the global arts calendar.
In this interview, Genocchio talks about the challenges the Armory Show faces as the art world is becoming more international and, at the same time, more local, and shares his thoughts on how Chinese players in the art world have helped shape the global art fair circuit.
