The 2026 APEC Data for Growth High- Level Roundtable was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on July 25, where member economies reached a consensus that data has become a new engine for economic growth.

As a core event of APEC Digital Week 2026, the meeting hosted in-depth exchanges over unlocking data value, technological innovation and regional productivity improvement.

In closed-door discussions, participants finalized the APEC Data for Growth High- Level Roundtable Chair's Statement which defines three directions for data cooperation, including fostering an open and enabling environment for data access and use, strengthening data-driven innovation and application, and deepening cooperation on data connectivity.
