FedEx Corporation China told media in late June they have launched two new international freight routes from China to the US.

FedEx China said one of the new routes starts from China’s Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport in Shandong Province and runs once every week through Osaka, Japan to FedEx’s major hub cities in the US. The route is expected to shorten the transport time from Shandong to North America by one day.

The other route originates at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport in Fujian Province and runs at the same frequency through Incheon, South Korea to Anchorage, Alaska, US.

Xu Baoyan, FedEx China’s deputy president told the Xinhua News Agency that the new routes are to respond to China’s growing demand for foreign trade and to deepen cooperation with Chinese regions, as they will help Chinese enterprises better connect to the global market.

According to Chinese media, FedEx runs over 300 international flights on the Chinese mainland every week, with four international operation centers based in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. FedEx said they will establish two more international operation centers in Qingdao and Xiamen.
