New Start for Wuhan

On April 8, China ended the lockdown of Wuhan, the original center of the coronavirus. It means the epidemic is virtually over in the city and things are slowly normalizing. Wuhan and its people are recovering from the closures of the past months and people are returning to work. During the fight against the epidemic, the city and its medical system have survived unprecedented hardships with the help of the whole country and at the great sacrifice of medical workers. The public health system in the city has plenty of room for improvement and it will serve as a good example for the country to prevent and control potential fatal contagious diseases. It is of great significance to learn from past lessons, take preventive measures and address the weak links in the country’s public health system.
