This summer, a scandal over faulty vaccines in China has ignited anger on social media. In order to rebuild trust, the new Regulations on Managing Vaccines was published in draft form on November 11 and is available for public comment on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation. This draft law is meaningful for the people in China, the Beijing Youth Daily editorialized.

The draft covers the requirements for vaccine development, market licensing, production and sales and other vaccine-related issues.

The Beijing Youth Daily said the draft means vaccines will be covered by national safety regulations, which will guarantee and promote public health.

What’s more, the draft emphasizes the accountability of regulatory authorities and local governments, saying that if malpractice is discovered, wrongdoers will be investigated and punished.
