Healthy Beverages and Discount Supermarkets

In line with Shanghai’s regulations on personal hygiene and health issued two years ago, beverages in the city are classed into four categories based on their health indexes. For instance, a jasmine milk tea made by popular beverage brand Chagee is graded B, or moderately healthy. In response to growing health concerns, HeyTea, one of the largest beverage chain stores, has classified its products according to caffeine concentrations. Vegetable drinks are emerging to cater for consumers who like green foods. In addition to healthy beverages, cheap supermarkets are attracting young consumers. To meet their expectations at lower prices, supermarkets like Zhao Yiming Snack and Aldi are selling low-cost and own-brand products. Amid fierce competition, experts believe only those that precisely target consumer demands with the help of AI forecasts and analyses will eventually win out.
