China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange published a report on China’s international revenue and expenditure in late March, revealing that foreign investment in China reached US$520.6 billion in 2020, a rise of 81 percent on 2019.

Analysts attributed the fast growth to China’s effective pandemic control and quick production recovery. Official data shows that rental and business services, information technology and manufacturing ranked as the top three non-finance industries which attracted the biggest amount of direct foreign investment in 2020.

The growth, according to analysts, benefits from China’s continuous efforts to loosen the restrictions on foreign investment and keep its currency policies stable.
