More than 25,000 medical workers have been sent to Wuhan, Hubei Province to fight Covid-19, which as of February 22 had infected 77,041 people and killed 2,445 nationwide. Due to the serious shortage in medical protective suits, masks and goggles, 1,716 medical workers were confirmed to be infected as of February 11, official data shows. Six died. On January 22, China Central Television posted a photo to Sina Weibo showing a medical worker in a protective suit and called on netizens to salute all “medical heroes.” The post was shared 7.6 million times.
