On April 6, the National Development and Reform Commission announced during a press conference that China will make great efforts to boost the development and application of its homegrown Beidou Navigation Satellite System during the 14th FiveYear Plan (2021-2025).

China plans for its Beidou navigation system to be equipped with the ability to provide global services in 2020, with 30 more navigation satellites ready to be launched.

in 2000 and initiated the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System in 2003, the system did not officially enter service until 2012.
