Raised in Spain and China, and trained as a fashion designer in the US and UK, Yayi Chen’s multicultural upbringing has not only equipped her with a unique artistic sense, but also inspired her search to understand the racial and gender identities of immigrant women.

Chen sat down with NewsChina to talk about her search for identity through her personal life experience and designs.
