A recent post which incited people to poison undisciplined pet dogs with isonicid, an antibiotic used against tuberculosis, sparked heated debate. The post claimed that isonicid is fatal to dogs and will teach dog owners a lesson if they allow their dogs to run wild in public places. Some netizens supported the post, saying that those who never use a leash when walking their dogs should be taught a lesson, while most people argued that dogs should not be the ones to be punished and that extreme measures will only make conflicts between animal lovers and haters worse. Media reports warned that isonicid, which should only be sold by licensed hospitals and clinics, was leaked to online shopping websites via unknown channels and can also harm humans if it is overused.
