Chinese TV show Dad! Where Are We Going? has enjoyed high audience ratings by showing how fathers and their children cope with different challenges. However, the recent season of the show sparked fierce controversy by including three “father-child” teams who aren’t actually related. As a three-year-old “daughter” told her 23-year-old “father” “I want to marry you” and the latter replied that the little girl was the same type as his “ideal girlfriend,” many audiences felt disgusted about the flirtatious relationship. They worried that the show was teaching child predators how to approach little girls, which will increase the risk of children being trafficked or sexually harassed.
